Yudhiṣṭhira’s Reproach to Dhanaṃjaya

Sañjaya said: Then once again the heroes—led by Sātyaki—rushed forward. Bhīmasena and Sātyaki, along with other foremost warriors, launched a renewed, forceful assault upon that Kaurava army which had already been grievously shattered. The passage underscores the relentless momentum of battle, where valor and resolve drive repeated offensives even amid widespread destruction.

The verse highlights the kṣatriya ethos of steadfast resolve in battle: leadership (Sātyaki) and strength (Bhīma) drive a renewed offensive even after heavy devastation. Ethically, it reflects the Mahābhārata’s portrayal of duty-bound warfare—valor and persistence operating within the tragic reality of mass destruction.
Sañjaya reports that Sātyaki and other Pāṇḍava heroes, with Bhīma prominent among them, again charge and attack the Kaurava forces, which have already suffered severe losses. It marks a fresh surge of Pāṇḍava pressure in the ongoing battle of the Karṇa Parva.
