कर्णेन सैन्यस्थापनं तथा नानायुद्धसमवायः

Karna Reforms the Host and Multiple Duels Converge

न कर्ण देशसामान्यात्‌ सर्व: पापं निषेवते । यादृशा: स्वस्वभावेन देवा अपि न तादृशा:

na karṇa deśa-sāmānyāt sarvaḥ pāpaṃ niṣevate | yādṛśāḥ sva-svabhāvena devā api na tādṛśāḥ, karṇa ||

Wahai Karṇa, tidaklah benar bahwa setiap orang yang sekadar tinggal di suatu negeri pasti menempuh dosa. Di tanah yang sama itu, ada pula insan-insan yang—karena keluhuran watak dan tabiat bawaannya—menjadi jiwa-jiwa agung yang bahkan para dewa pun tak sanggup menandingi.
