Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 94: Sātyaki–Sudarśana Yuddha (सात्यकि–सुदर्शन युद्ध)
यथोक्तं वरुणेनाजी तथा स निधनं गत: । व्यसुश्चाप्पपतद् भूमौ प्रेक्षतां सर्वधन्विनाम्,वरुणदेवने जैसा कहा था, युद्धभूमिमें श्रुतायुधकी उसी प्रकार मृत्यु हुई। वे सम्पूर्ण धनुर्धरोंके देखते-देखते प्राणशून्य होकर पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़े
yathoktaṁ varuṇenājau tathā sa nidhanaṁ gataḥ | vyasuś cāpatat bhūmau prekṣatāṁ sarva-dhanvinām ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Seperti yang telah diucapkan Varuṇa, demikianlah ia menemui ajal di medan laga. Di hadapan semua pemanah, ia roboh ke tanah tanpa nyawa.”
