Educational Q&A

As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction; it signals completion and frames the preceding discourse as Dhṛtarāṣṭra-centered. Ethically, it underscores how the epic organizes reflection on war through the voices of responsible rulers, highlighting accountability and the grave consequences that follow key acts like Jayadratha’s killing.

This is an editorial closing line marking that the eighty-fifth chapter—focused on Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s speech—has concluded within the Jayadratha-slaying section of the Droṇa Parva. It functions as a structural boundary rather than a plot event.
