Duryodhana’s Armor and the Tactical Reassessment
यदि च मनुजपन्नगा: पिशाचा रजनिचरा: पतगाः सुरासुराश्न । रणगतमभियान्ति सिन्धुराजं॑ न स भविता सह तैरपि प्रभाते,यदि मनुष्य, नाग, पिशाच, निशाचर, पक्षी, देवता और असुर भी रणक्षेत्रमें आये हुए सिंधुराज जयद्रथकी सहायताके लिये आ जायँ तो भी वह कल उन सहायकोंके साथ ही जीवनसे हाथ धो बैठेगा
yadi ca manuja-pannagāḥ piśācā rajanīcarāḥ patagāḥ surāsurāś ca | raṇa-gatam abhiyānti sindhu-rājaṁ na sa bhavitā saha tair api prabhāte ||
Sekalipun manusia, ular-ular naga, piśāca, para pengembara malam, burung-burung—bahkan para dewa dan asura—turun ke medan perang untuk menolong raja Sindhu, Jayadratha, tetap saja saat fajar ia tidak akan selamat; ia akan binasa bersama semua penolong itu.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse teaches that when one aligns with adharma and commits or enables grave wrongdoing, mere power, numbers, or supernatural alliances cannot shield one from the moral and karmic consequence. Ethical causality is presented as stronger than external protection.
Vāyu delivers a forceful prediction about Jayadratha (the king of Sindhu): even if every kind of being—human, nāga, spirit, demon, bird, deva, and asura—were to come to his aid on the battlefield, he will still be slain by dawn, along with any who stand with him.
