अपायाच्छस्त्रमुत्सूज्य कोपदुःखसमन्वित: । *राजा धृतराष्ट्रकी वैश्यजातीय पत्नीका परम बुद्धिमान् पुत्र युयुत्सु कोप और दुःखसे युक्त हो कौरवोंसे उपर्युक्त बातें कहकर शस्त्र त्यागककर चला आया है' ।। किमर्थमेतन्नाख्यातं त्वया कृष्ण रणे मम
sañjaya uvāca |
apāyāc chastram utsṛjya kopaduḥkhasamanvitaḥ |
rājā dhṛtarāṣṭrasya vaiśyajātīyapatnyāḥ paramabuddhimān putro yuyutsuḥ kopa-duḥkhayuktaḥ kauravān uktvā śastraṃ tyaktvā calita āgataḥ ||
kimartham etan nākhyātaṃ tvayā kṛṣṇa raṇe mama ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Yuyutsu—putra Raja Dhṛtarāṣṭra dari permaisuri yang berasal dari golongan Vaiśya, sangat cerdas—diliputi amarah dan duka, mengucapkan kata-kata itu kepada para Kaurava; lalu melemparkan senjatanya dan mengundurkan diri. Mengapa, wahai Kṛṣṇa, engkau tidak memberitahukan hal ini kepadaku di tengah pertempuran?”
संजय उवाच
Even amid war, inner conscience can compel a person to reject participation in wrongdoing: Yuyutsu, shaken by anger and grief at the Kauravas’ conduct, abandons his weapon and withdraws—suggesting that dharma may require stepping back from adharma, even at personal cost.
Sañjaya reports that Yuyutsu, Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son by a Vaiśya-born wife, spoke strongly to the Kauravas and then left the fighting after throwing down his weapon. The speaker then questions Kṛṣṇa about why this development was not communicated earlier during the battle.
