युधिष्ठिरकृष्णसंवादः — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Appeal and Kṛṣṇa’s Assurance
Droṇa-parva, Adhyāya 59
वेदैश्वतुर्भि: सुप्रीता: प्राप्तुवन्ति दिवौकस:
vedaiś caturbhiḥ suprītāḥ prāptuvanti divaukasaḥ
Nārada berkata: “Dengan puas dan bersukacita oleh keempat Veda, para penghuni surga mencapai kedudukan surgawi mereka.”
नारद उवाच
The verse links reverent engagement with the four Vedas to spiritual merit: sacred knowledge, when properly upheld, is portrayed as a cause for attaining higher realms, reinforcing the Mahābhārata’s emphasis on dharma grounded in śāstra.
Nārada is speaking and makes a general doctrinal statement: celestial beings are described as those who, being pleased through the four Vedas, attain heaven—serving as a moral-religious reflection within the broader war narrative of Droṇa Parva.
