द्रोणपर्व — अध्याय २७: सुशर्माह्वानम्, अर्जुनस्य प्रतिनिवर्तनम्, भगदत्तेन गजप्रहारः
तदा मोहमनुप्राप्त: सिष्विदे हि जनार्दन: । ततस्तान् प्रायशः पार्थों ब्रह्मास्त्रेण निजध्निवान्,उस अवस्थामें भगवान् जनार्दन पसीने-पसीने हो गये। उनपर मोह-सा छा गया। यह देख अर्जुनने ब्रह्मास्त्रसे उन सबको अधिकांशमें नष्ट कर दिया
tadā moham anuprāptaḥ siṣvide hi janārdanaḥ | tatas tān prāyaśaḥ pārtho brahmāstreṇa nijaghnivān ||
Saat itu Janārdana diliputi sejenis kebingungan dan tubuhnya bermandikan keringat. Melihatnya, Pārtha Arjuna menumpas sebagian besar dari mereka dengan Brahmāstra.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the moral pressure and psychological intensity of righteous war: even with Kṛṣṇa present, the battlefield can generate bewilderment, and the use of a supreme weapon like the Brahmāstra signals how quickly conflict can escalate beyond ordinary limits—demanding restraint and discernment.
Sañjaya reports that Kṛṣṇa (Janārdana) becomes momentarily overwhelmed and perspiring; in response, Arjuna (Pārtha) employs the Brahmāstra and destroys most of the opposing fighters before him.
