ततो<भूत् तुमुलं युद्ध भीमराधेययोस्तदा । तौ वृषाविव नर्दन्तौ विवृत्तनयनावुभौ,फिर तो भीमसेन और राधापुत्र कर्णमें घोर युद्ध होने लगा। दोनों ही एक-दूसरेकी ओर विकृत दृष्टिसे देखते हुए साँड्रोंके समान गर्जने लगे
tato 'bhūt tumulaṃ yuddhaṃ bhīmarādheyayos tadā | tau vṛṣāv iva nardantau vivṛttanayanāv ubhau ||
Sanjaya berkata: “Maka berkobarlah pertempuran dahsyat antara Bhima dan Radheya (Karna). Keduanya, dengan mata terbelalak oleh amarah dan terpaku satu sama lain, mengaum bagaikan dua banteng.”
