स्थिता: पश्यत मे कर्म द्रोणमेव व्रजाम्पहम् । ये जबतक पाण्डव-सेनाको समाप्त नहीं कर लेते, उसके पहले ही मैं द्रोणपर आक्रमण करता हूँ। वीरो! तुम खड़े होकर मेरा पराक्रम देखो ।। ५४ ई ।। इत्युक्त्वा प्राविशत् क्रुद्धों द्रोणानीकं वृकोदर:
sthitāḥ paśyata me karma droṇam eva vrajāmy aham | ity uktvā prāviśat kruddho droṇānīkaṃ vṛkodaraḥ ||
“Berdirilah teguh dan saksikan perbuatanku; aku menuju Droṇa saja.” Setelah berkata demikian, Vṛkodara yang diliputi amarah menerobos masuk ke dalam formasi tempur Droṇa.
