The verse highlights a kṣatriya battlefield ethic: prowess is not only physical (the piercing blow) but also psychological (the intimidating roar of the chariot). It reflects how fame and epithet do not grant immunity—renowned heroes still face the consequences of combat and duty-driven violence.
Sañjaya reports that Sātyaki, advancing with a fearsome chariot-roar that unnerves the warriors, strikes and wounds Karṇa effectively—an episode within the intense clashes of Droṇa Parva.
