(Alaṃbala-vadhaḥ) / The Slaying of Alaṃbala and the Advance toward Karṇa
tādṛśaṁ bhuvi no yuddhaṁ divi vā śrutam ity uta | rājan naivaṁ mayā pṛthivyāṁ vā svarge vā devatā-gandharvāsura-rākṣasānām api tādṛśaṁ yuddhaṁ śrutaṁ na hi ||

The verse underscores the unprecedented magnitude and terror of the Kurukṣetra war: when adharma-driven conflict escalates, it can surpass even mythic battles of gods and demons, serving as a moral warning about the consequences of unchecked ambition and hatred.
Sañjaya, narrating events to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, expresses astonishment at the intensity of the fighting in Droṇa Parva, stating that he has never heard of such a battle on earth or in heaven, not even among divine and demonic beings.
