दुर्योधनस्य कर्णप्रार्थना — कृपकर्णसंवादः

ते शरा: प्रेषितास्तेन भीमसेनेन संयुगे । निपेतु: सर्वतो वीरे कूजन्त इव पक्षिण:,युद्धस्थलमें भीमसेनके द्वारा चलाये हुए वे बाण कूजते हुए पक्षियोंके समान वीर कर्णपर सब ओरसे पड़ने लगे

te śarāḥ preṣitās tena bhīmasenena saṃyuge | nipetuḥ sarvato vīre kūjant iva pakṣiṇaḥ ||

Anak-anak panah yang dilepaskan Bhīmasena dalam pertempuran itu pun jatuh menimpa sang kesatria dari segala arah, berdesing laksana kicau burung.
