Book 7, Chapter 132
व्यायच्छन्ति च तत्रापि सर्व एवापराजिता: । यदि तावद्ू रणे पार्थो व्यतिक्रान्तो महारथ:
vyāyacchanti ca tatrāpi sarva evāparājitāḥ | yadi tāvad raṇe pārtho vyatikrānto mahārathaḥ ||
Sanjaya berkata: “Bahkan di sana pun mereka semua—masih tak terkalahkan—terus mendesak dan berjuang. Jika dalam pertempuran itu Partha (Arjuna), sang maharathi, benar-benar telah menerobos…,”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights steadfast effort and resilience in the face of conflict: warriors remain ‘unconquered’ not merely by outcome but by continuing disciplined exertion, while a leader’s breakthrough (Arjuna’s) becomes a decisive ethical and strategic turning point in war.
Sañjaya reports that the fighters are still striving intensely, and he introduces a conditional development: if Arjuna, the great warrior, has managed to cross or break through the opposing battle-lines, it signals a significant shift in the unfolding combat.
