Adhyāya 110: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament on Fate; Saṃjaya’s Reproof and the Princes’ Assault on Bhīma
sañjaya uvāca | apūjayan mārutiṃ ca saṃhṛṣṭās te mahābalam | prahrādaṃ samare jitvā yathā śakraṃ marudgaṇāḥ ||
Sañjaya berkata: Mereka bersukacita besar, lalu menghormati dan memuji Bhīma—putra Dewa Angin yang perkasa—berulang-ulang; sebagaimana para Marut memuliakan Śakra (Indra) ketika ia kembali dari pertempuran setelah menaklukkan Prahrāda.

The verse highlights the ethical-social function of honoring courage and service: when strength is used effectively for one’s cause, the community responds with gratitude and praise, likened to divine attendants celebrating their leader’s victory.
Sañjaya reports that the warriors, overjoyed, celebrate and honor Bhīma (called Māruti) for his battlefield success, comparing their praise to the Maruts lauding Indra after he defeats Prahrāda in combat.
