भीमकर्णसमागमः | Bhīma–Karṇa Encounter
ऐश्वर्यमदसम्मूढो नैष दुःखमुपेयिवान् । नच ते संयुगे वीर्य जानाति पुरुषर्षभ,पुरुषरत्न! ऐश्वर्यके घमंडमें चूर रहनेवाले इस दुर्योधनने कभी कष्ट नहीं उठाया है। यह युद्धमें तुम्हारे बल-पराक्रमको नहीं जानता है
aiśvaryamadasammūḍho naiṣa duḥkham upeyivān | na ca te saṁyuge vīryaṁ jānāti puruṣarṣabha ||
Terbius oleh mabuk kuasa dan kemakmuran, orang ini tak pernah sungguh merasakan derita. Wahai yang termulia di antara para lelaki, ia tak memahami kedahsyatan kekuatanmu di medan perang.
वायुदेव उवाच
Power and prosperity can intoxicate the mind, producing delusion and moral blindness. One who has not endured hardship may underestimate others and misjudge reality—especially in war—leading to reckless decisions and ethical failure.
Vāyudeva addresses a heroic listener, warning that Duryodhana—swollen with the pride of sovereignty—has never faced real suffering and therefore does not recognize the listener’s true martial prowess. The statement frames Duryodhana’s miscalculation as rooted in arrogance and inexperience of hardship.
