Even in the harsh setting of war, dharma includes responsible care for those who serve—here, the horses. Kṛṣṇa’s skilled, compassionate attention models leadership through service and competence rather than neglect.
Sañjaya reports that Kṛṣṇa, acting as a charioteer and caretaker, treats the horses’ battle-weariness and injuries—fatigue, exhaustion, nausea, trembling, and wounds—so they can recover and continue their duty.
