Even amid the turmoil of the war narrative, the text highlights spaces marked by purity and ascetic presence—places ‘frequented by sages’—and shows how true seekers (like Nārada) are drawn to witness and assess extraordinary events with discernment rather than mere curiosity.
Sañjaya describes a deep lake, newly manifested ‘in an instant,’ teeming with aquatic life and visited by sages. Hearing of or perceiving this marvel, the divine sage Nārada comes there specifically to see it.
