भीष्मस्य मण्डलव्यूहः — Bhīṣma’s Maṇḍala Battle-Formation and the Opening Engagements
सो<पराह्ने महाराज संग्रामस्तुमुलो5भवत् । एकस्य च बहूनां च समेतानां रणाजिरे,महाराज! अपराह्नकालमें उस समरांगणमें एकत्र हुए बहुत-से वीरोंके साथ एक वीरका भयंकर युद्ध प्रारम्भ हुआ
so ’parāhṇe mahārāja saṅgrāmas tumulo ’bhavat | ekasya ca bahūnāṃ ca sametānāṃ raṇājire ||
Wahai Raja, pada paruh akhir hari itu pertempuran menjadi amat dahsyat. Di medan laga, mulailah pertarungan mengerikan—seorang kesatria menghadapi banyak pahlawan yang telah berkumpul.
