Adhyāya 65: Dawn Assembly, Makara–Śyena Vyūhas, and Commander Engagements
तमुपायं न पश्यामि जीयेरन् येन पाण्डवा: । मामका विजयं युद्धे प्राप्तुयुर्येन संजय,संजय! मैं ऐसा कोई उपाय नहीं देखता, जिससे पाण्डव हार जायाँ और मेरे पुत्रोंको युद्धमें विजय प्राप्त हो
tam upāyaṃ na paśyāmi jīyeran yena pāṇḍavāḥ | māmakā vijayaṃ yuddhe prāptuyur yena sañjaya sañjaya ||
Wahai Sañjaya, aku tak melihat siasat apa pun yang dapat membuat para Pāṇḍava kalah dan membuat putra-putraku meraih kemenangan dalam perang ini.
धृतराष्ट उवाच
The verse highlights the moral-psychological consequence of adharma-driven ambition: Dhṛtarāṣṭra, attached to his sons’ cause, experiences helplessness and foreboding, sensing that victory cannot be secured merely by tactics when the opposing side is aligned with rightful claim and stronger support.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra speaks to Sañjaya, the seer-narrator of the battlefield events, confessing that he cannot perceive any workable plan by which the Pāṇḍavas could be defeated and his own side could win the war.
