Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the kṣatriya martial ethos: in a dharma-framed conflict, warriors may feel exhilaration and even approval toward battle. Ethically, it points to the tension between righteous duty and the intoxicating excitement of violence—an attitude that later reflection in the epic often scrutinizes.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the two opposing champions (implied by context) are both highly exhilarated and welcoming the fight, signaling readiness and eagerness as the battle situation intensifies.
