उत्पातवर्णनम् (Utpāta-varṇanam) — Catalogue of Portents
एतानि जयमानानां लक्षणानि विशाम्पते | भवन्ति विपरीतानि मुमूर्षणां जनाधिप
etāni jayamānānāṁ lakṣaṇāni viśāmpate | bhavanti viparītāni mumūrṣaṇāṁ janādhipa ||
Vyāsa berkata: “Wahai pelindung rakyat, inilah tanda-tanda mujur yang menyertai mereka yang sedang bangkit menuju kemenangan. Namun, wahai penguasa manusia, bagi mereka yang dekat pada maut, tanda-tanda yang sama itu tampak terbalik dan berubah menjadi pertanda buruk.”
