Chapter 19: Prativyūha of the Pāṇḍavas — Vajra (Acala) Formation and Dawn Omens
यः स वात इवोद्धूत: समरे दुःसहः परै: । स न: पुरो योत्स्यते वै भीम: प्रहरतां वर:
yaḥ sa vāta ivoddhūtaḥ samare duḥsahaḥ paraiḥ | sa naḥ puro yotsyate vai bhīmaḥ praharatāṃ varaḥ ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Dia yang di medan laga bangkit laksana angin badai dan menjadi tak tertahankan bagi musuh—Bhima, yang terunggul dalam menghantam, sungguh akan bertempur di barisan depan kita.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal of kshatriya leadership in war: the most powerful and steadfast warrior should take the forefront, bearing the brunt of danger for the sake of his side, embodying courage and protective responsibility.
Sanjaya, narrating the battlefield to Dhritarashtra, identifies Bhima as the terrifying, storm-like fighter who will stand in the front line and engage the enemy, emphasizing his irresistible force in combat.
