Educational Q&A

The verse highlights collective courage grounded in reliable protection and exemplary leadership: when a community unites around a strong defense and a foremost champion, fear diminishes and resolve strengthens—mirroring how the gods gather around Indra in crisis.

Sañjaya describes a war-situation in which the group intends to take shelter behind a fortification (prākāra) and remain fearless, while addressing Bhīma as the foremost striker, comparing their rallying to the gods’ support of Indra.
