अचिन्तयित्वा तान् बाणान् पिता देवब्रतस्तव । अर्जुन समरे क़रुद्धं वारयामास सायकै:,परंतु आपके पितृतुल्य देवव्रतने उन बाणोंकी कुछ भी परवा न करके समरमें कुपित हुए अर्जुनको अपने बाणोंद्वारा रोक दिया
acintayitvā tān bāṇān pitā devabratas tava | arjuna samare kruddhaṃ vārayāmāsa sāyakaiḥ ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Namun Devavrata (Bhīṣma), sesepuh yang bagai ayah bagimu, tanpa menghiraukan anak panah itu, menahan Arjuna yang murka di tengah pertempuran dengan rentetan panahnya sendiri.”
