Bhīṣma’s Fall to the Arrow-Bed
भूरिश्रवाभ्ययात् तूर्ण तिष्ठ तिषछ्ेति चाब्रवीत् | इसी तरह महारथी भीष्मकी ओर आते हुए भीमसेनपर भूरिश्रवाने तुरंत आक्रमण किया और कहा--'खड़ा रह, खड़ा रह”
bhūriśravābhyayāt tūrṇaṃ tiṣṭha tiṣṭheti cābravīt |
Sanjaya berkata: Bhūriśravā melesat maju dengan cepat, menyerbu Bhīmasena dan berseru, “Berdiri! Berdiri!”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ethos of direct confrontation in war: a warrior openly challenges an opponent to stand and face combat, emphasizing courage, resolve, and the public accountability of one’s martial action.
Sañjaya narrates that Bhūriśravā rapidly advances and attacks Bhīmasena, calling out “Stand! Stand!”—a conventional war-cry that marks the start of an immediate duel-like engagement within the broader battle.
