Adhyāya 104 — Śikhaṇḍin-puraskāraḥ (Śikhaṇḍin as Vanguard) and Bhīṣma’s Counter-Advance

आर्ष्यशुद्धिं कथं चैव सौभद्र: परवीरहा । तन्ममाचक्ष्व तत्त्वेन यथावृत्तं सम संयुगे,धृतराष्ट्रने पूछा--संजय! समरमें बड़े-बड़े महारथियोंका संहार करते हुए शूरवीर अर्जुनकुमार अभिमन्युके साथ राक्षस अलम्बुषने किस प्रकार युद्ध किया? इसी प्रकार शत्रुवीरोंका हनन करनेवाले सुभद्रा-कुमारने राक्षस अलम्बुषके साथ कैसे युद्ध किया? युद्धस्थलमें उन दोनोंसे सम्बन्ध रखनेवाला जो भी वृत्तान्त हो, वह मुझे ठीक-ठीक बताओ

dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca |

ārṣyaśuddhiṁ kathaṁ caiva saubhadraḥ paravīrahā |

tan mamācakṣva tattvena yathāvṛttaṁ raṇe saṁyuge ||

Dhritarashtra berkata: “Bagaimana putra Subhadra, pembunuh para pahlawan musuh, menjaga kemurnian dharma para Arya dan tata-krama ksatria dalam pertempuran? Ceritakan kepadaku dengan sebenar-benarnya apa yang terjadi.”
