तान्‌ समीपगतान श्रु॒त्वा निर्ययुर्वृष्णिपुड्रवा:,वृष्णिवंशके प्रमुख वीरोंने जब सुना कि पाण्डव लोग नगरके समीप आ गये हैं, तब वे उनकी अगवानीके लिये बाहर निकले

tān samīpagatān śrutvā niryayur vṛṣṇipuṅgavāḥ

Waiśampāyana berkata: Mendengar bahwa para Pāṇḍava telah mendekati kota, para pahlawan terkemuka dari wangsa Vṛṣṇi pun keluar untuk menyambut mereka—sebagai penghormatan yang selaras dengan dharma dan kewajiban kekerabatan.
