Parīkṣit-janma-saṃkaṭa and Kuntī’s petition to Vāsudeva (परिक्षिज्जन्मसंकटं कुन्त्याः प्रार्थना च)

ययौ व्यासं पुरस्कृत्य नृपो रत्ननिर्धि प्रति । भगवान्‌ शिव और उनके पार्षदोंकी सब प्रकारसे पूजा करके महर्षि व्यासको आगे किये राजा युधिष्ठिर उस स्थानको गये, जहाँ वह रत्न एवं सुवर्णकी राशि संचित थी ।।

vaiśampāyana uvāca | pūjayitvā dhanādhyakṣaṁ praṇipatya abhivādya ca | prītimān sa kuruśreṣṭhaḥ khānayāmāsa tad dhanam ||

Waiśampāyana berkata: Setelah memuja dengan semestinya Sang Penguasa Kekayaan, lalu bersujud dan menyampaikan salam hormat, sang utama di antara kaum Kuru—dengan hati penuh sukacita—memerintahkan agar harta simpanan itu digali. Tindakan itu bukanlah perampasan karena nafsu; kekayaan didekati melalui bakti, kepatutan, dan restu upacara suci, agar kemakmuran menjadi pelayan dharma, bukan kerakusan.
