Adhyāya 62: Marutta’s Treasure and the Pāṇḍavas’ Auspicious Departure (मरुत्तस्य धनप्राप्त्युपक्रमः)
आच्छाद्य च महाबाहुर्धनतृष्णामपानुदत् । ब्राह्मणानां तदा कृष्णस्तद भूल्लोमहर्षणम्
ācchādya ca mahābāhur dhana-tṛṣṇām apānudat | brāhmaṇānāṁ tadā kṛṣṇas tad bhūl lomaharṣaṇam ||
Waiśampāyana berkata: Lalu Kṛṣṇa yang berlengan perkasa, setelah memakaikan busana kepada para brāhmaṇa dan menganugerahkan kekayaan, melenyapkan dahaga mereka akan harta. Perbuatan itu sungguh menggugah—membangkitkan rasa takjub.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dāna as a dharmic act: wealth is to be used to support the deserving and relieve need, and true giving aims at removing craving and anxiety rather than inflaming further desire.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa clothes the brāhmaṇas and gives them so much wealth that their desire for more is extinguished; the scale and spirit of the gift is described as lomaharṣaṇa—astonishing and inspiring.
