Brahmopadeśa: Adhipatitva-kathana, Dharma-lakṣaṇa, and Kṣetra–Kṣetrajña Viveka

Book 14, Chapter 43

लक्षणं मनसो ध्यानमव्यक्त साधुलक्षणम्‌

lakṣaṇaṁ manaso dhyānam avyaktasādhulakṣaṇam | yogasya lakṣaṇaṁ pravṛttiḥ saṁnyāsasya lakṣaṇaṁ jñānam | tasmād buddhimān puruṣo jñānāśrayaṁ kṛtvā iha saṁnyāsaṁ gṛhṇīyāt ||

Vāyu bersabda: “Tanda batin (manas) ialah meditasi; dan tanda orang suci sejati ialah bahwa kebajikannya tidak dipamerkan ke luar—ia diketahui di dalam melalui kesadaran-diri. Ciri yoga ialah keterlibatan yang tertib dalam tindakan yang benar, sedangkan ciri pelepasan (sannyāsa) ialah pengetahuan sejati. Karena itu, orang bijak hendaknya berlindung pada pengetahuan dan, di sini dan kini, menempuh jalan pelepasan.”
