Arjuna’s request to Krishna and the opening of the Kāśyapa–Brāhmaṇa mokṣa discourse (Āśvamedhika-parva 16)
bahu manye ca te buddhiṁ bhṛśaṁ sampūjayāmi ca | yenāhaṁ bhavatā buddho medhāvī hṛṣi kāśyapa kāśyapa ||
Wahai Kāśyapa, aku sangat menghargai kecerdasanmu dan memuliakannya. Karena engkau telah mengenali siapa diriku, maka kukatakan: sungguh engkau amat cerdas, wahai Ṛṣi Kāśyapa.
सिद्ध उवाच
True wisdom is shown by discernment—recognizing reality correctly—and such insight deserves honor. The verse frames intelligence not as mere learning but as the capacity to perceive and identify the truth of a person or situation.
A Siddha addresses Kāśyapa and commends him, stating that Kāśyapa has correctly recognized the Siddha’s identity or nature. This recognition becomes the basis for praising Kāśyapa as medhāvī (keen-minded) and for offering him respect.
