सर्वे जनपदाश्षैव तव कर्माणि पाण्डव
sarve janapadāś caiva tava karmāṇi pāṇḍava
Waiśampāyana berkata—wahai Pāṇḍava, seluruh negeri dan rakyat sungguh memperbincangkan serta memuji perbuatanmu.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler’s actions (karmāṇi) become public knowledge and moral testimony: the wider world remembers and judges deeds, so ethical conduct and responsibility are inseparable from leadership.
Vaiśampāyana addresses a Pāṇḍava (typically Yudhiṣṭhira in this context) and notes that all the janapadas—realms and their people—are speaking of his actions, highlighting his renown and the public awareness of his conduct.
