Nārada’s Exempla of Tapas and Assurance to Dhṛtarāṣṭra (नारदोपदेशः—तपःसिद्ध्युदाहरणम्)
The verse quietly foregrounds dharmic living: those established in puṇya (meritorious conduct) dwell in an āśrama setting where even the passage of time (the night) is described as śivā—auspicious and safe—suggesting the ethical atmosphere created by virtuous life.
Vaiśampāyana marks a transition: after events at the hermitage, the night—beautiful with stars—passes without harm, preparing the scene for the next day’s developments in the āśrama setting.
