Chatra–Upānah Dāna: Origin Narrative
Jamadagni–Reṇukā–Sūrya Saṃvāda
तदिदं गृह्ुतां विद्वन् पुष्करं द्विजसत्तम | अतिक्रमं मे भगवन क्षन्तुमर्हस्यनिन्दित,द्विजश्रेष्ठ! विद्वन! अब आप अपने ये कमल लीजिये। भगवन्! अनिन्दनीय महर्षे! मेरा अपराध क्षमा कीजिये
tad idaṁ gṛhyatāṁ vidvan puṣkaraṁ dvijasattama | atikramaṁ me bhagavan kṣantum arhasy anindita ||
“Wahai orang bijak, terbaik di antara para brahmana, terimalah Puṣkara (teratai) ini. Wahai yang mulia, resi yang tak bercela, sudilah engkau mengampuni pelanggaranku.”
