The Allegory of Non-Greed: Śunaḥsakha and the Yātudhānī
When the right course (śreyas) is in doubt, one should seek guidance from a higher, impartial source of wisdom and authority—here symbolized by approaching Svayambhū (Brahmā)—rather than acting from uncertainty or impulse.
Soma responds to the gods and directs them to go to Brahmā’s abode, stating that Brahmā will explain what will truly benefit them. The moment functions as a transition to authoritative counsel within the discourse.
