अनुशासनपर्व अध्याय ९३ — तपस्, सदोपवास, विघसाशन, अतिथिप्रियता

Austerity, regulated fasting, residual-eating, and hospitality

ये च भाष्यविद: केचिद्‌ ये च व्याकरणे रता: । अधीयते पुराण ये धर्मशास्त्राण्यथापि च

bhīṣma uvāca | ye ca bhāṣyavidaḥ kecid ye ca vyākaraṇe ratāḥ | adhīyate purāṇe ye dharmaśāstrāṇy athāpi ca ||

Bhishma berkata: Mereka yang menguasai bhāṣya (tafsir otoritatif), mereka yang tekun pada tata bahasa, dan mereka yang mempelajari Purāṇa serta Dharmaśāstra—brahmana yang berilmu dan berperilaku benar seperti itu, bahkan dengan kehadirannya saja, menjadi sumber penyucian bagi yang lain.
