नक्षत्रेषु श्राद्धफलविधानम् (Śrāddha Outcomes According to Nakṣatras)
कुरुकुलका भार वहन करनेवाले पितामह! मैं आपके मुखसे यह तारक-वधका सम्पूर्ण वृत्तान्त सुनना चाहता हूँ। इसके लिये मेरे मनमें बड़ा कौतूहल है ।।
Bhīṣma uvāca: Vipannakṛtyā rājendra devatā ṛṣayas tathā | Kṛttikāś codayāmāsur apatya-bharaṇāya vai ||
Bhīṣma berkata: “Wahai raja, ketika usaha mereka terancam gagal, para dewa dan para resi mendorong enam Kṛttikā untuk memelihara anak itu, agar maksud yang ditetapkan tidak gugur.”
