Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
पूयन्ते तत्र नियतं प्रयच्छन्तो वसुन्धराम् । सर्वे च कथिता धर्मास्त्वया मे कुरुनन्दन,उनमें वे ही पवित्र होते हैं जो नियमपूर्वक पृथ्वीका दान करते हैं। कुरुनन्दन! आपने मुझसे समस्त धर्मोंका वर्णन किया है
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |
pūyante tatra niyataṃ prayacchanto vasundharām |
sarve ca kathitā dharmās tvayā me kurunandana |
Di sana, mereka yang dengan ketertiban dan disiplin menganugerahkan bumi (tanah) sebagai dana niscaya disucikan. Wahai kebanggaan Kuru, engkau telah menjelaskan kepadaku seluruh dharma.
युधिछिर उवाच
Regular, disciplined charity—especially the gift of land (a foundational resource for livelihood)—is presented as a powerful purifier, and dharma is framed as something to be learned through systematic instruction from an elder authority.
Yudhiṣṭhira, receiving instruction on dharma from Bhīṣma, acknowledges the teaching and highlights a specific point: those who consistently donate land attain purification in the described spiritual outcome.
