Adhyāya 60: Dāna vs. Yajña—Royal Giving, Protection, and Karmic Share
कीर्तिर्भवति दानेन तथा5<5रोग्यमहिंसया । द्विजशुश्रूषया राज्यं द्विजत्वं चापि पुष्कलम्
kīrtir bhavati dānena tathārogyam ahiṃsayā | dvijaśuśrūṣayā rājyaṃ dvijatvaṃ cāpi puṣkalam ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Dengan memberi, orang memperoleh kemasyhuran; dengan tanpa-kekerasan, ia memperoleh kesehatan dan kesejahteraan. Dengan berbakti melayani kaum dwija (Brahmana), ia meraih kedaulatan, dan juga bagian yang melimpah dari keluhuran Brahmana (jasa rohani dan martabat).”
