Cyavana Explains His Tests; Kuśika Seeks Brāhmaṇya for His Line (च्यवन–कुशिक संवादः)
इयं शय्या भगवतो यथाकाममिहोष्यताम् । प्रयतिष्यावहे प्रीतिमाहर्तु ते तपोधन
bhīṣma uvāca | iyaṁ śayyā bhagavato yathākāmam ihoṣyatām | prayatiṣyāvahe prītim āhartu te tapodhana |
Sambil menunjuk ke pembaringan itu, ia berkata, “Wahai tapodhana, inilah ranjang yang telah disiapkan untuk Yang Mulia. Tinggallah di sini sesukamu dan beristirahatlah dengan tenteram. Kami akan berusaha sekuat tenaga untuk menyenangkan hatimu.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic hospitality: honoring a worthy guest—especially an ascetic—by offering comfort and actively striving to please them, treating service as a moral duty.
Bhishma indicates a prepared resting place and invites the revered ascetic to stay as desired, assuring that the hosts will make efforts to keep him content.
