Gṛhastha-Vrata
इत्युक्ता तेन विप्रेण राजपुत्री यशस्विनी । विधिना प्रतिजग्राह वेदोक्तेन विशाम्पते,प्रजानाथ! उस ब्राह्मणके ऐसा कहनेपर यशस्विनी राजकुमारी ओघवतीने वेदोक्त विधिसे उसका पूजन किया
ity uktā tena vipreṇa rājaputrī yaśasvinī | vidhinā pratijagrāha vedoktena viśāmpate prajānātha |
Wahai pelindung rakyat! Setelah brahmana itu berkata demikian, sang putri termasyhur menerima dan menghormatinya dengan tata cara yang semestinya, sesuai dengan ketentuan yang diajarkan dalam Weda.
भीष्म उवाच
That dharma includes receiving and honoring a worthy guest—especially a learned brahmin—through proper, Veda-sanctioned conduct, emphasizing respect, restraint, and ritual correctness.
After the brahmin speaks to her, the renowned princess (identified in the gloss as Oghavatī) formally receives him and performs his honoring/worship according to Vedic procedure, while Bhishma narrates this to the king addressed as ‘lord of the people’.
