रुद्र-स्तवराजः (Rudra-Stavarāja) — Exempla of Śiva’s Boons and the Hymn’s Phalaśruti
भक्त्या हाुनन्यमीशानं परं देव॑ सनातनम् | कर्मणा मनसा वाचा भावेनामिततेजस:
bhaktyā hāunanyam īśānaṁ paraṁ devaṁ sanātanam | karmaṇā manasā vācā bhāvenāmitatejasaḥ ||
Vāyu berkata: “Dengan bhakti dan keteguhan tanpa dua, sembahlah Īśāna, Dewa Tertinggi yang abadi. Mereka yang dengan perbuatan, pikiran, ucapan, dan rasa batin senantiasa bermeditasi pada Śiva, Penguasa jagat, dianugerahi sinar daya rohani yang tak terukur. Dan mereka yang mendengar serta membuat orang lain mendengar tentang-Nya, yang membicarakan kemuliaan-Nya, dan yang terus-menerus memuji-Nya melalui kidung ini—mereka sendiri menjadi layak dipuji; senantiasa puas dan bersukacita dalam bhakti itu.”
वायुदेव उवाच
Single-pointed devotion to Śiva—expressed through action, thought, speech, and heartfelt intention—purifies the devotee and yields ‘amita-tejas’, an immeasurable spiritual potency. Continual remembrance, praise, and sharing of His glory are presented as ethical-spiritual disciplines that lead to contentment and inner joy.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Vāyu speaks in praise of Śiva and describes the conduct and fruits of devoted worship: constant meditation in all daily states (waking, sleeping, moving, resting) and ongoing recitation/listening of Śiva’s praises. The passage frames devotion as a lived practice rather than a momentary ritual.
