Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony

Sincere merit and devotion can culminate in divine grace: the deity’s satisfaction (tuṣṭi) yields blessings that elevate one’s life toward lasting renown and transcendence, emphasizing the ethical ideal of blamelessness (anagha) as a condition for higher attainments.
Rudra (Śiva) manifests directly before the addressed person and grants a boon: he declares his pleasure and promises that the recipient will become a world-renowned author of a treatise and attain an ageless, deathless state.
