Dāna–Tapaḥ Praśaṃsā and Gṛhastha-Upadeśa
Maitreya
धर्ममूलां श्रियं प्राप्य पाप्मा नष्ट इहाद्य मे । भूतपूर्व कीटने कहा--भगवन्! आपके ही प्रयत्नसे मैं अधिकाधिक सुखकी अवस्थाको प्राप्त होता गया हूँ। अब इस जन्ममें धर्ममूलक सम्पत्ति पाकर मेरा सारा पाप नष्ट हो गया
dharmamūlāṃ śriyaṃ prāpya pāpmā naṣṭa ihādya me |
Sang cacing berkata: “Wahai Bhagavan, setelah memperoleh kemakmuran yang berakar pada dharma, hari ini di sini dosaku telah musnah. Berkat upayamulah aku terus mencapai keadaan-keadaan kebahagiaan yang kian tinggi; kini, dalam kelahiran ini, dengan harta yang diperoleh melalui dharma, seluruh noda keburukanku yang lampau telah terhapus.”
कीट उवाच
Prosperity that is rooted in dharma is ethically transformative: when wealth and well-being arise from righteous conduct, they become instruments of inner purification, dissolving prior sin (pāpmā) rather than reinforcing it.
A being identified as a worm (kīṭa) speaks in gratitude, declaring that through another’s effort it has progressively attained greater happiness, and that in this present life its former demerit has been eradicated upon gaining dharma-founded prosperity.
