Educational Q&A

The verse depicts the refined enjoyments and freedom that arise as the fruit of merit: continual residence in celestial palaces, pleasant adornment, and unimpeded movement according to one’s will—implying that ethical conduct can mature into honored, effortless well-being.

Bhishma is describing a reward-state in the hereafter: the beneficiary lives among Soma-associated celestial maidens, is anointed with pleasing fragrances, roams freely as desired, and is attended by beautiful, sweet women.
