सदा द्वादशमासान्‌ वै जुह्मानो जातवेदसम्‌ | सरस्वती गोपयानो ब्रह्मचर्य समाचरन्‌

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | sadā dvādaśa-māsān vai juhmāno jātavedasam | sarasvatīṁ gopayāno brahmacaryaṁ samācaran |

Translation

Bhīṣma berkata: Ia yang selama dua belas bulan penuh senantiasa mempersembahkan oblation ke dalam Agni Jātavedas, menjaga Sarasvatī berupa ucapan dengan mengekangnya, dan menjalankan brahmacarya; serta untuk selamanya meninggalkan rangkaian bunga, pasta cendana, madu, dan daging—mencapai dunia para Marut dan dunia Indra.
