Śakuntalā’s Satya-Discourse and the Recognition of Bharata (शकुन्तला–सत्योपदेशः; भरतप्रतिग्रहः)
सुपर्णप्रतिमेनाथ रथेन वसुधाधिप: । महीमापूरयामास घोषेण त्रिदिवं तथा
suparṇapratimenātha rathena vasudhādhipaḥ | mahīm āpūrayāmāsa ghoṣeṇa tridivaṃ tathā ||
Kemudian sang penguasa bumi menaiki kereta perang yang secepat Garuḍa. Deru lajunya menggema di seluruh bumi, seakan-akan gaungnya pun mencapai kahyangan.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ideal of royal energy and purposeful movement: a king’s resolve and capacity to act should be strong enough to ‘make the world resound,’ yet directed toward rightful aims within dharma.
Vaiśampāyana describes the king traveling in a chariot compared to Garuḍa for its speed; its thunderous sound seems to fill the earth and reach the heavens, emphasizing the grandeur of the king’s progress.
