नरनारायणोौ यौ तौ पूर्वदेवी विभावसो । सम्प्राप्ती मानुषे लोके कार्यार्थ हि दिवौकसाम्,“विभावसो! आदिदेव नर और नारायण मुनि इस समय देवताओंका कार्य सिद्ध करनेके लिये मनुष्यलोकमें अवतीर्ण हुए हैं
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | nara-nārāyaṇau yau tau pūrva-devī vibhāvaso | samprāptī mānuṣe loke kāryārthaṃ hi divaukasām ||
Waiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai Vibhāvasu (Agni)! Kedua resi ilahi purba itu, Nara dan Nārāyaṇa, kini telah tiba di dunia manusia demi menuntaskan tugas para dewa.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Divine powers may manifest within the human realm to restore or uphold dharma; the gods’ purposes are fulfilled through disciplined, righteous agents such as the sages Nara and Nārāyaṇa.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana addresses Agni (Vibhāvasu), stating that the ancient divine pair Nara and Nārāyaṇa have come to the human world specifically to carry out a mission on behalf of the gods.
