विश्रान्तेडथ गुरौ तस्मिन् पौत्रानादाय कौरवान् | शिष्यत्वेन ददौ भीष्मो वसूनि विविधानि च
viśrānte 'tha gurau tasmin pautrān ādāya kauravān | śiṣyatvena dadau bhīṣmo vasūni vividhāni ca ||
Waiśampāyana berkata: Setelah sang guru beristirahat, Bhīṣma yang perkasa membawa para cucu wangsa Kuru dan menyerahkan mereka secara resmi sebagai murid; ia pun mempersembahkan berbagai macam harta kekayaan.
